Over 20 years ago Kerry Uchida started DJing with just a single cassette deck. Over time, music and and technologies used to perform as a DJ have evolved. Kerry has always been at the forefront of ever-changing technologies and methods of production. Through his design company Technomorph Productions, he has been involved with sound design, video production, music production, visuals design and DJ / VJ performances.

As the hardware and software have evolved, so have K-Tel’s ideas and performances. Adopting his video production skills to his VJ video bank, and his DJ skills to his VJ performance he has envisioned the future of the DJ/VJ performance by combining these elements into a new A/V experience suitable for both live performances and also enhanced A/V Podcasts.

While the technologies have advanced, Kerry has also sought out more human ways to interface with these technologies, moving past the keyboard and mouse and finding more naturalistic and organic ways of interfacing with his gear, choosing the right components that allow the technology to disappear from a performance. Extensive use of MIDI interfaces, video cameras, and devices such as the Pioneer DVJ-X1 DVD player have allowed K-Tel to continue to amaze audiences while still maintaining the movement of the dance floor.
